The Capitol Area Mothers of Multiples Club (CAMOMC)
Members can attend CAMOMC meetings and events, utilize club resources, and receive our monthly newsletters.
Meetings
Our meetings are held at 7:00pm on the second Wednesday of each month except July, August & December. We meet in Room G on the second floor of the Sparrow Professional Annex Building across from Sparrow Hospital. Each meeting includes “Multiple Mania” which is a forum for questions, answers and advice on any concerns you have regarding raising your family. In addition to “Multiple Mania,” we discuss pending club business and new ideas for the future. We also spend a portion of each meeting on a special activity or with a speaker. Snacks and refreshments are also available.
Events
The club sponsors many outside activities for our members and their families. These include an Easter Egg Hunt, a Halloween Party, a holiday party in the winter, and other family and couples’ outings throughout the year. We hold a members’ garage sale each spring and fall. Many of the items for sale are matching twin or triplet clothes, which can be difficult to find (and expensive) at local stores, as well as equipment like double strollers, high chairs, or car seats.
Club Resources
The club maintains a circulating library of books and magazines about multiples, which is available at every meeting for members’ use. A list of members is available for advice on different aspects of multiple parenting, beginning with pregnancy and continuing into the teen-age years and beyond or just an ear to bend.
Newsletters
Our newsletter, Extra Addition, is published monthly. Each issue contains information about upcoming programs and activities, helpful tips on parenting multiples, and current club business.
Additional Membership
CAMOMC membership also includes membership in the Michigan Organization of Mothers of Twins Club (MOMOTC) and the National Organization of Mothers of Twins Club (NOMOTC). Members also receive the National Organization of Mothers of Twins Clubs’ newsletter, Notebook, as well as Multiple News and Views, sent out by the Michigan Organization of Mothers of Twins Club.
Provisional Membership
Come try us out before you join. Mothers of multiples may provisionally attend 3 CAMOMC meetings and receive our monthly newsletter to keep apprised of CAMOMC events. Women expecting multiples may attend CAMOMC meetings and receive newsletters until 3 months after the birth of their multiples.
